Hot New Companies To Buy Right Now

The NBA season is now well under way, and some teams are much bigger revenue generators than others. These teams drive up TV ratings when they play, and tickets at their arenas are among the most expensive in the NBA. When they go to other cities, they boost ticket prices there as well.

Secondary market ticket resource TiqIQ provided 24/7 Wall St. with average ticket prices for each of the NBA 30 teams for the rest of the 2013-2014 season. The Miami Heat have the most expensive road tickets in the league by far. Fans in other cities wishing to see the team in action will have to shell out an average of $268 when the Heat comes to town. The average NBA ticket for the rest of the year is just $130. 24/7 Wall St. reviewed the eight teams with average road game ticket prices of more than $150.

Many of the teams with the most expensive home games are from some of the biggest cities in the country. NBA teams from New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, the three largest cities in the U.S., have among the highest average road prices. TiqIQ Jesse Lawrence explained that teams from larger cities tend to have more fans living in other parts of the country. And those fans often want to come and see their teams. There are two teams from the New York area among the eight teams with the highest road prices. This makes sense, explained Lawrence, because here are New Yorkers everywhere./p>

Small cap mining stocks Discovery Minerals Ltd (OTCMKTS: DSCR), Zinco Do Brasil Inc (OTCMKTS: ZNBR) and Amalgamated Gold and Silver Inc (OTCMKTS: BCHS) have been getting some extra attention lately as one stock surged last Friday while the other two are or have been in the past, the subject of paid promotions. It goes without saying though that small cap mining stocks tend to be riskier than your average stock. But do these three small cap mining stocks have what it takes to produce a mother lode for investors? Here is a deeper dig into all three:

How did the solar industry respond to the cut in subsidies? U.S. installations rose 76% last year on the back of a 27% drop in installation costs, according to GTM Research. Growth was driven by utility-scale installation, but even the less volatile residential market grew 62% as leasing programs from companies such as SunPower (NASDAQ: SPWR  ) and SolarCity (NASDAQ: SCTY  ) spread like wildfire.

  • [By Travis Hoium]

Ten years ago, it seemed impossible that solar power on rooftops would become a widespread reality. Today, the question is why it's not growing faster. Companies such as Sunrun, Clean Power Finance, SolarCity (NASDAQ: SCTY  ) , and SunPower (NASDAQ: SPWR  ) are all leading the charge in growing solar leasing for rooftops, blowing to top off the traditional energy model. The biggest hindrance is consumer awareness at this point.

  • [By Travis Hoium]

    A silver lining
There are a few companies this is good for, something the market isn't recognizing right now. Europe has been a huge drag for both SunPower (NASDAQ: SPWR  ) and First Solar (NASDAQ: FSLR  ) over the past few years and this may be a chance to turn that momentum around.

  • [By Travis Hoium]

The company's systems backlog has fallen from $9.4 billionto end 2011 to $8.0 billion after Q1 2013, which isn't a good sign because the company is almost 100% reliant on systems. The high-margin systems that come with projects signed years ago will also likely evaporate as First Solar competes on cost per watt against SunPower (NASDAQ: SPWR  ) , Canadian Solar (NASDAQ: CSIQ  ) , and others. But the biggest challenge is the company's panels.
